Our staff here at Hillcrest is committed to providing each student with the best possible educational experience.  All of our academic outcomes are directly related to the Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs), written by Michigan Department of Education (MDE), as well as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

Common Core State Standards

In June 2010, the Michigan State Board of Education adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) as the state standards for mathematics and English Language Arts. In September of 2011, Alma Schools began the work of aligning our curriculum to the CCSS.  For this reason, it is imperative that our outcomes are aligned to both the GLCEs and the CCSS.  If you are interested in learning more about the new CCSS, and how they align with the GLCEs, the Crosswalk Documents below will be a great resource.  You can read more about the GLCEs and the CCSS in the documents below.
