Celebrating our partnership with Alma College. Thirty-one (31) Alma College education students hold class at Pine Avenue Elementary. Taught by Dr. Peggy Yates, the Reading Lab at Pine Avenue offers seventeen (17) different thirty (30) minute weekly sessions with several of our 4th and 5th grade students. We look forward to the smiles shared, our students blossom, and the teacher education students grow through this partnership.

Next week is Spirit Week!!! Let's all show our Panther Pride!!!

The District Literacy Leadership Team met today discussing and planning for our three elementary buildings!

This week, we started our Panther Period Math intervention time. This instructional period provides for an opportunity to work on Mathematics skills at each student’s instructional level, as outlined by the NWEA Learning Continuum. This time gives all of our teachers and instructional staff the opportunity to work with students to develop skills and provide extensions in mathematics.

Friday, September 17 is celebrated by schools as Constitution Day. This is the day that the US Constitution was signed by 39 delegates of the Constitutional Convention in 1787. Not only does this day signify the signing of the Constitution, but it also recognizes all US citizens, those born and those naturalized. Mrs. Maslovich, pictured below with Miss June’s class, was able to share her story and celebrate her new status as a naturalized US citizen as an educational guest speaker on Friday. Congratulations, Mrs. Maslovich!

Due to food supplier shortages, our menu for the rest of September has been modified. We anticipate menus being published in two-week increments due to this. Thanks to our APS food service team for keeping us in the know and our bellies full with great food choices!

Time spent making learning come to life is time well spent! These students were able to examine all parts of an aloe plant while learning about what plants need to grow and thrive.
