Science and engineering is embedded in literacy! Our 5th grade scholars are learning about the Wright brothers and the first days of flight. Through the discovery process, scholars built and tested their own airplanes in the hallway.

In November, the Pine Avenue school community came together to raise funds, raising awareness of homelessness and housing insecurities in our communities. Monies raised during the "Coins for a Cause" campaign were matched by United Way - doubling our $514.63 raised, bringing the total contribution to $1029.26! Winning the class pizza party was Mrs. Fornusek's 5th grade class! Way to go, Pine Avenue! Together, we can make a BIG difference!
