🐾Our first Staff Spotlight of the year features one of our newest hires, Veronica Andersen! She brings lots of great experience to her role as a Special Education teacher at Hillcrest Elementary, and we are excited to welcome her to APS!🐾
About Veronica Anderson, in her own words:
"I have been teaching and working in the field of education for almost 20 years. I started my journey in early intervention foster care then became a special education teacher and also worked as a Title I consultant. Over the summer my husband retired from military service and we moved from Iowa to Michigan to be closer to family! I grew up in a small town in central Illinois and I am the 3rd eldest of nine children (6 girls, 3 boys)."

Please make sure you are using the location assigned to your child’s grade level. Following these designated areas will help us keep arrival and dismissal safe, organized, and efficient for everyone.

Dr. Peggy Yates led our paras through the first session of the Para educator Academy through the Council of Exceptional Children. They learned through engaging activities and real life scenarios.
Our teachers capped off a great week with keynote speaker, Dr. Nancy Frey! Her presentation was a great way to send us into the new year!
