Peitsch-Ashlynn Doughtery
Ashlynn was new to our school at the beginning of November but you would have never been able to tell because she has fit right in. From day one she has followed her ROARS and set a great example for the class. Ashlynn is kind, funny, caring, and will try her best at everything she does. We are so happy that you are a part of our class! Keep up the amazing work Ashlynn!
Pineiro-Korra Fonley
Korra is so kind! She is always willing to help her peers and is a great role model in our classroom. She is so fun to talk to and always follows her ROARS. Keep being awesome Korra!
Kindel-Eloise Thomas
Eloise is our November Star Student! She has done an awesome job of following her ROARS since the first day of school. Eloise is kind, smart, respectful, and responsible. She is a great role model and helper to others in the class, and we couldn't be happier to have her in our corner. I am thankful for your hard work ethic and am so proud of your accomplishments. You rock!
Trefil-Maycee Dancer
Maycee is a hard worker and always willing to help others. This month she has been extra helpful with our sub! She follows her ROARS and always does her best. She asks great questions and always participates. Keep being a great classmate and friend, Maycee! I am so proud of you.
Rogers-Jayden Fisher
Jayden is an AWESOME student. He is always following directions and getting his work done. He gives 100% effort all of the time and I can count on him to help others when they need it. He participates in class discussions and adds great conversation to our class work. He always is following our ROARS and I can count on him to always do his job! Keep up the great work Jayden!
Wolfe-Journey Guernsey
Journey is our All-Star Student for November. Journey is a hard worker and always helps others around her. I always look forward to our conversations about books, animals, or jewelry. Keep up the excellent work, Journey!
Peitsch-Christopher Davis
Christopher has been working very hard in our small groups. He continues to practice his ROARS. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is empathetic. He really cares about his friends and other students.
Pineiro-Deaire Depriest
Deaire is a great kid to have in any class. He always follows his ROARS and is very respectful and friendly to every student he comes across. He tries his best every day and always has a smile on his face. His positive attitude sets a great example for others and I'm so happy to have him in class.
Music-Tawona Store (Wolfe)
The music student of the month is Towana Store. She always comes to class ready to learn, sing, and play all of our songs. I notice she is always willing to help those around her. I can always count on her to follow her ROARS. She is an amazing example for others and her hard work is always appreciated!

Students completed our first Tornado Drill of the year. They did a great job of following their ROARS during the drill and are now prepared in the case of a real tornado.
Lots of hats and scarves today in the building for our first day of Reindeer Games! Tomorrow is Hawaiian Day/Dress Like a Tourist!

1st grade students had the RESD Nutrition lessons today with a focus on hand washing! That is the perfect lesson for this time of year!
We are very lucky to offer PE classes to our students as well as Health and Wellness where students get lots of physical activity, but also learn the health benefits of it!

CMU STEM Experience for our 3rd graders this week! Students working on coding and creating movement in a robot! Thanks to PTO for awesome experiences like this for our students!

Just a few days left in November!!!
November is Homeless Awareness Month and here at Hillcrest, we want to help bring awareness of homelessness and housing insecurity in our communities. That’s why we’re partnering with United Way to raise money for Gratiot County Hope House through a coin war challenge called “Coins for a Cause”! United Way is committed to matching all funds raised (up to $10,000) so now’s your chance to double your donation! Students can bring in their spare change during November. The classroom that raises the most money will win a pizza party from United Way!

Mrs. Lyon's 1st grade class had their own Thanksgiving Parade with ballon floats they designed! Someday we might see these designs on tv for the actual parade!
Mrs. Benjamin's 1st grade class wanted to show how thankful they were to all of our staff members by delivering snacks and making them cards.
We looked all around for Turkeys but they were all in disguise!
