Students LOVE seeing the first snow of the year!!!!
Session #1 of "Parenting the Love and Logic Way" was very informative, as we discussed strategies to use at home when our children argue or persistently plead for things.
We will be hosting 3 more sessions throughout the year, to continue building strategies to use at home. These workshops are open to all K-5 parents, 5:30-7:00pm, at Luce Road ECLC.

Most 3rd grade classes were able to visit Forest Hills Nature Center this week! We are lucky to have such a great learning opportunity so close to home!

Students were able to make a quick adjustment during recess when it started pouring and came in and followed their ROARS during indoor recess!!
We are so lucky to have the Alma Fire Department come to Hillcrest today to talk to our 2nd graders about fire prevention!
Second Steps is our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum. The first unit is on skills for learning, and this week we are talking about Focused Attention.
We are thankful for our Literacy Coach, Michele Ringle, to help support our instructional paras with our new ELA program, Bookworms.
During our DI (Differentiated Instruction) Block for Bookworms, students rotate through different stations and receive instruction at their level.
Our Love & Logic Parent Workshop is tomorrow night- Tuesday, October 11th from 6:30-8:00 PM at Luce Road ECLC. This workshop is free and participants will learn how to put an end to arguing, back talk and begging. Please call the Luce Road office (989) 463-1012 to let them know you will be attending.
