1st graders at Hillcrest have had a very busy couple of days with Christmas station rotations in classrooms yesterday and their annual trip the Polar Express today!

A HUGE thanks to MEEMIC Kingsley Insurance Group for this very generous donation to Hillcrest! This money will be used to purchase rewards and prizes for our Panther Paw drawings for students following their ROARS!

All Hillcrest students received a very generous gift today from Shark Tooth Woodshop at St. Louis High School. Every grade received a different handmade wood toy from the class! What a truly amazing gift! Thanks to Mr. Maxwell and his students for spreading the holiday spirit!

In Number Corner during the month of December, 2nd graders are learning about different shapes, their attributes, and lines of symmetry.

We have been playing Bingo as part of our 12 Days of Reindeer Games and classes win a prize when they get a Bingo! This class is enjoying playing the games as part of the prize!

We have had such a fun time with our 12 Days of Reindeer Games! One week left, here are the days!

Our 1st graders have come a long way with their reading! Students can now lead their classmates for choral reading during Bookworms.

Just a reminder: Yesterday, the "feels like temps" were below Zero, so we were inside. Today, it appears that they will be over Zero, but it will still be COLD! Please make sure students bundle up!!!

Tomorrow is our Late Start Day for December. Supervision at Hillcrest begins at 11:08 am and school will begin at 11:38 am. Sack lunches will be provided at school or students can bring their own lunch.

She is so enthusiastic about participating in class, does her work to the best of her ability and helps others. I can always count on Tawona to follow her ROARS. She is responsible and I can always count on her to do the right thing. Congratulations Tawona! DeJong Aleeya Pyman Aleeya is our camper of the month! Aleeya is a joy to have in class! She always follows her ROARS and is always willing to participate when called on. She always takes her time on her assignments and makes sure that she is doing her best work. She is a great friend and helper to everyone in the classroom. Way to go, Aleeya! Keep up the amazing work! Federspiel Mollie-Mae McConnell Mollie-Mae is a great student who always follows her ROARS. She is always willing to share her learning and participate in class. She is a super helper and is always there to lend a hand to a classmate, or teacher, in need. She is very responsible and a great example for her classmates. Great job, Mollie-Mae! We are so proud of you, keep up the good work. Federspiel Carter Near Carter is a hard worker who shows his ROARS every day. He is respectful to adults and classmates alike, and he demonstrates responsibility by knowing when it is time for reading groups and getting where he needs to go. He moves safely and encourages others to do the same. Carter is a valued camper at Camp Hillcrest! Greiner Penelope Gilkins Penny is our camper of the month for November. Penny has done a fantastic job this past month of following her ROARS and putting forth her best effort, no matter how challenging the work might be! Penny's confidence has grown each day, which has helped her become a leader within our classroom! I can always count on Penny to follow her ROARS and help anyone with in our classroom, even when there is a subsitute! Fantastic job Penny and keep up the great work! Greiner Christopher Davis Chris has been working really hard on modeling what a good student looks like. He is a caring, funny, friendly ball of energy that looks out for others. He often shares his rewards and is always up for playing with anybody. Good job Chris. Lambert Blair Bergey Blair is our November camper of the month! Blair demonstrates a positive example in the classroom, especially when it comes to following classroom expectations.I know I can always count on her to follow her ROARS both in and out of the classroom. Blair always gives her best effort on her work and is never afraid to ask for help when needed. She also is always there to help out her classmates when needed. Keep up the great work Blair! Wickes Macario Bautista Macario is a student who goes above and beyond what is expected in the classroom and it is a pleasure to announce him as our November Star Student! Macario sets a positive example for his peers in how he conducts himself and works hard each day to follow his ROARS. We can always count on Macario to answer the phone, lend a pencil to a neighbor in need and to advocate for the needs of others often ahead of his own needs. With such strong integrity, and work ethic already in place, it will not come as a surprise to anyone to hear of his future success down the road! Keep doing amazing things, Macario!

Amaya has done an excellent job following her ROARS. She puts great effort into her work and is a great role model to peers. Amaya enjoys putting a smile on other peoples faces and being a leader in the classroom. We are so grateful to have Amaya in class, keep up the awesome job! Peitsch Evan Leonard Evan is our panther of the month for November! He has done a great job following his ROARSs. He has worked so hard to become a great role model for other class mates. Evan always wants to be a helper to teachers and peers. Keep up the great work, we are so proud of you!! Pineiro Carter Puffpaff Carter is our panther of the month for November. He is a great example of following his ROARs everyday. He is such a hard worker and goes above and beyond at school with his efforts. Carter sets a great example for his peers and has great manners. I am so proud of him and we are glad to have him in class! Keep up the great work Carter! Rogers Austin Slater Austin is our camper of the month for November! You can always find him helping others and giving 100% on all of his work. If you have questions about busses, he is your go to guy! He is filled with amazing facts that he loves to share. Austin follows his ROARS everyday and is a great model student to his classmates. Keep up the great work Austin! We are so glad you are in our class! Trefil Evelyn Hart Evelyn is always doing the right thing and works hard to model expectations for others. She goes above and beyond to help others and has the kindest heart. Evelyn can always be seen with a smile on her face and brings joy everywhere she goes. Keep working hard, Evie! Wolfe Olivia Carroll Olivia is our camper of the month for November!
