Paraprofessional staff is also receiving CHAMPS training today, under the leadership of Mrs. Hahn. APS is committed to providing professional development surrounding the district goals to all staff.


Mr. Huff is leading members of the APS Custodial, Maintenance, Food Service Teams, along with Administrative Secretaries, Central Office staff, Paraprofessionals, Transportation Department, and other non-certified teaching staff member in ALICE training and reviewing safety protocols this morning.

APS teachers are diving into a day of professional learning, focused on the CHAMPS framework and continued work on building a comprehensive Multi-Tiered System of Support.


November is Homeless Awareness Month and we’re excited to be partnering with United Way of Gratiot & Isabella Counties to raise money for Gratiot County Hope House through a coin war challenge called “Coins for a Cause”! Start saving and collecting your coins to send with your student! The classroom that raises the most amount of money will win a PIZZA PARTY! 🍕

We had a wonderful day today celebrating Fall Festival! The building was full with families all day participating in different activities, enjoying snacks, and making memories with the photo booth. We wish everyone a Happy Halloween!

Today we had our FIRST rainy day pick up! We tried something a little new! A HUGE thank you to all you adults for your patience and understanding while we worked through it! It went pretty smooth too!

Session #1 of "Parenting the Love and Logic Way" was very informative, as we discussed strategies to use at home when our children argue or persistently plead for things.
We will be hosting 3 more sessions throughout the year, to continue building strategies to use at home. These workshops are open to all K-5 parents, 5:30-7:00pm, at Luce Road ECLC.

Today we had a beautiful bench installed on the playground, in loving memory of longtime kindergarten teacher Michelle Kelly. 🦋

Parent Teacher Conferences are this Thursday and Friday.

Don't forget to sign up for a Parent Teacher Conference time with your teacher! Teachers have sent out a link with a google form to sign up for a time. Conferences can either be in person or over the phone. Conferences are Thursday, October 6th and Friday, October 7th.

This is an important message in response to the inaccurate rumors being circulated regarding school safety. School safety is a top priority for APS. As announced on September 23rd, a cross department investigation has been completed. There are no student or building concerns.
