Next week is Homecoming Week!! Here are the days for all elementary buildings for Spirit Week! (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are the same as the HS).

Today, Friday, September 8th at about 2:20 pm, a student at Hillcrest Elementary had an accident on the playground. The police and ambulance were called as a precautionary measure. We are thankful for the quick response of the Alma Police Department.

GSRP/Preschool Open House is tomorrow, Sept. 7, 1-3pm & 5-7pm. We look forward to seeing our preschool families tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Sept. 7, is picture day for Kindergarten students at Luce Road. Looking forward to seeing all those smiles in the morning!

Meet one of our new Panthers, Mark Kemler! While Mark has been a teacher in our district for the past 11 years, he is joining the K-5 encore team as our STEAM teacher. We are excited about this new program and the impact it will have for our students learning!

Our GSRP Preschool (Great Start Readiness Program) is still accepting enrollments for the 2023-2024 school year. This is s a free preschool program based on eligibility. It is with much excitement that I announce the opening of our Panther Cubs Child Care Program on Monday, August 7! We are enrolling 3 and 4 year old children and still have spots available. We are delighted to share that Alma Public Schools will be offering Before and After School childcare for our K-5 students! These programs will be housed at Luce Road Early Childhood Learning Center. Drop off will begin at 6 a.m for before school care and pick up for after school care will be until 6 p.m. Transportation will be available in the morning to bus students from Luce Road to their appropriate schools and from their schools to Luce Road for after school care. At a per day cost of $10 for before school care, $10 for after school care, or $15 for both we are hopeful these programs will bridge a gap in childcare needs in our community! "Drop in" or unscheduled care will not be available due to staffing requirements. Our 3 Literacy Coaches; Mrs. Barnaby, Mrs. Oswald, and Mrs. Lebron, are in Atlanta, GA at the National Bookworms Convention learning from the creator of the curriculum, Dr. Sharon Walpole. We are so excited for the knowledge they will bring back for our teachers!
