The start of a new month brings us a new lunch menu!
Love looking on the playground and seeing Pine’s “newest student.” ☃️

There’s something magical about the first “big” snowfall of the school year! Several of our Pine Ave students spent time rolling snow to build snowmen for our playground! ☃️

Good morning! Due to fog and ice, APS is operating on a 2 hour delay.
As a reminder, school will begin at 10:03 and breakfast is not served on delay days.

This week's staff spotlight is on APS 4th grade teacher, Becca Adkins. Mrs. Adkins has been an employee of APS for 19 years. This is her first year at Pine Avenue and says the best part of her job is working students and families - most importantly, laughing and learning with her class family! In her spare time, she likes to read, spend time with family and friends, and play trivia games. The best piece of advice she has been given? “Win Ugly.” Everything we do in life doesn’t have to be perfect. We just have to show up and do the best we can. Some days it might be beautiful and perfect, and other days, good enough is perfect!

We're ready to "Deck the Halls" this December at Pine Avenue! We invite our students to participate in the daily dress up activities as we count down the days to winter break.

We have over 300 reasons to be thankful at Pine Avenue! Thank you for sharing your most valuable people with us everyday. Happy Thanksgiving from our Pine Avenue family to yours!

Have a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend, Pine families! We hope each of you have a great weekend with family and friends.

APS is excited to announce the hire of our new High School Assistant Principal. Eric Huff was Board approved tonight and will officially rejoin our Panther team on Monday, November 29, 2021. We look forward to Mr. Huff's contribution to our future High School success.

We love student led announcements! Thank you, students (and teachers!) for all of your hard work to make these happen.

Presenting compelling reasons and evidence to support beliefs was no problem for these students today! Way to go, young scholars!

STAFF SHOUT OUT!
Shout out to Ms. Sarah Mikulka! The 4-way stop was without a crossing guard one morning early this week. Sarah jumped in and took that role to ensure all kids crossed the streets safely, THANK YOU!

Hot off the press! Check out the 11/19/21 edition of Pine Press. Follow the link below.

We had special guests in music class this week! Violist, Dr. Caputo and Violinist Ms. Chaffee from the Gratiot Strings Association performed for our students, answered questions, and taught about how string instruments make their sound. Some students even got to try an instrument themselves!

STAFF SHOUT OUT!
Mrs. Rummer - She is awesome! She really cares for the kids.
Mrs. Rummer works tirelessly in the office, answering phones, helping with attendance, answering questions. She makes sure that breakfasts are prepared and distributed to classrooms. She orders all of the lunches for students daily. AND, she does all of this with a smile.
Thanks Mrs. Rummer!

Friday is a half day of school. Dismissal is at 11:20AM.
Please have a plan in place and communicated to your student as to how they will be getting home.

Join us for our November PTO Meeting at Hillcrest on Monday, November 15th at 6:30 pm! When entering, please park in the east parking lot and enter through the library entrance!

Wondering what's for lunch the rest of the month? Here's the calendar to help you figure out what to eat. Thanks food services!!
