He has been working so hard this year He is open to constructive criticism and works hard to improve. He always follow his ROARS, follows instructions and works well with others. Calvin is really blossoming this year. Congratulations on being our student of the month and a wonderful role model in class. DeJong Brayton Baleja-Krieg Brayton is our December camper of the month! Brayton is a hard worker who is always seeking to learn more! He is an awesome leader in the classroom who always follows his ROARS and is quick to help out a classmate in need. Brayton always does careful work and regularly contributes to our classroom conversation. Way to go, Brayton! Keep up the awesome work! DeJong Nicholas Peterman Nicholas is working hard in 3rd grade. He demonstrates his ROARS in school. He is funny and is a great classmate. He is always willing to learn and try something that is new with his learning. Keep practicing your ROARS Nicholas. You are doing great! Federspiel Phoenix Gillaspie Phoenix is camper of the month for December! She's a hard worker and always does her best. Nix always tries her best to follow her ROARS and has been known to encourage her classmates to as well. Overall, she is a great student to have in class and a good friend to anyone that needs one. Congratulations, Phoenix! Keep up the good work and we are so proud of you! Greiner Richard Hancock Richie is our camper of the month for December. Richie always has a smile on his face and a determination to have a great day! Richie has taken big steps forward in working hard to follow his ROARS this month. His hard work hasn't gone unnoticed, and he has earned our camper of the month. I am excited to see Richie continue to grow and take steps forward to become a leader who helps others follow their ROARS. Great job Richie, I'm proud of you! Keep up the great work! Lambert Odin Smith Odin Smith is our December camper of the month. Odin comes to school every day ready and eager to learn. He makes sure he is always following his ROARS and setting a positive example for his classmates. Odin is a kind friend and is willing to help out whenever needed as well as participating in classroom discussions. Keep up the great work Odin! Lambert Emaleigh Richards Emaleigh is hard worker that challenges herself to complete work and grow in her accademics. Not only is she a wonderful student but she is also a wonderful person full of smiles, laughter, and love. I look forward to seeing her everday and watching her exceed her own expectations. I am so proud of you Emaleigh. Keep up the good work and anything is possible. Wickes Allison Chrenka Allison is a sweet young lady who gives her best to all that she does both in school and on the athletic field. Allison follows her ROARS each and every day and sets a positive example for her peers. Her contributions to classroom conversations, hardworking nature and kindness towards others enhances our classroom environment in such a positive manner. Keep up the amazing work, Allison!

Callan comes to school everyday with a big smile and ready to get to work. He loves being a helper in class and he always follows his ROARS. I love that I can count on Callan to be a great example to others. He is also a very kind and respectful friend! Thank you Callan for always doing your best! I love that you are part of my class, keep up the great work! SEL Svetlana Harrington (Benjamin) Svetlana is the Camper of the Month in SEL! Svetlana is always prepared to learn when she arrives in SEL. She participates in conversations, shares ideas, listens intently, and shows her ROARS! Svetlana knows what it means to Be Kind, Be Strong, and Be Well. Congratulations! Elsea Allie Bollinger We are happy to be celebrating Allie Bollinger for the month of December! I can always count on Allie to be following our ROArS. Allie is a wonderful friend to all of her classmates, she works hard at school on all of her assignments, and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Thank you for being a great role model and our camper of the month Allie! PE Liam Miller (Elsea) Liam is always working hard and works great with everyone in his class! He is a postive example of how to work hard, learn, respect others and have fun!Keep up the great work liam! Gage Ryker Fish Ryker is a fun and friendly student. He comes to school every day with a great attitude and is always ready to learn. He gets along with his classmates and has lots of friends. He works very hard and can always be found following his ROARs. Ryker is an example of what an Alma Panther should look like. Great job! Gage Ryker Dunlap Ryker D. is a shining example of a student who knows their ROARS! He knows how to respect his fellow classmates as well as his teachers. He stays cool, calm, and collected and encourages others to do so too. Ryker, we are so happy to have you at Camp Hillcrest! Guild-Hubbard Binoojiing Starkey Binoojii is our student of the month. She possesses traits that identify herself as a student who can be trusted and counted upon. She is very respectful and kind to her classmates. Everyone around her is treated with respect and kindness. She is always honest, no matter the situation. Noojii exemplifies doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Shes a ROARs EXPERT!! Langworthy Jaxon Nentwig Jaxon is our camper of the month for December. Jaxon is a kind & respectful boy. He is always willing to lend a helping hand in any way, especially helping out a classmate. He enjoys learning & always puts forth 100%. He is always a positive role model and can be found following his ROARS. Keep up the good work , Jaxon. Congratulations! Lyon Harmony Beard Our camper of the month we are celebrating is Harmony Beard!! Not only is Harmony showing her ROARS on a daily basis, she can also be found being a fantastic friend! Harmony is our spark of positivity around the campfire and is always encouraging others to try their best. Thank you for your hard work every day Harmony, we are so happy to have you as a part of our campsite!

1st graders at Hillcrest have had a very busy couple of days with Christmas station rotations in classrooms yesterday and their annual trip the Polar Express today!

A HUGE thanks to MEEMIC Kingsley Insurance Group for this very generous donation to Hillcrest! This money will be used to purchase rewards and prizes for our Panther Paw drawings for students following their ROARS!

All Hillcrest students received a very generous gift today from Shark Tooth Woodshop at St. Louis High School. Every grade received a different handmade wood toy from the class! What a truly amazing gift! Thanks to Mr. Maxwell and his students for spreading the holiday spirit!

In Number Corner during the month of December, 2nd graders are learning about different shapes, their attributes, and lines of symmetry.

We have been playing Bingo as part of our 12 Days of Reindeer Games and classes win a prize when they get a Bingo! This class is enjoying playing the games as part of the prize!

We have had such a fun time with our 12 Days of Reindeer Games! One week left, here are the days!

Our 1st graders have come a long way with their reading! Students can now lead their classmates for choral reading during Bookworms.
