I would like to personally invite you to our Winter Fest Night from 5-7 pm, where we will have fun "winter-themed" activities throughout the building!
Coding is such a great activity for kids! We love students getting a chance to use it in our STEAM class!


Here are a few notes for the Late Start today:
This will operate similarly to the scheduled Late Start dates we have had.
-Supervision begins at 11:08 am. Students will go inside if the "feels like" temperature is below 0 degrees.
-Lunches will be provided in the classroom or students can bring a lunch from home.
Please drive safely and we will see everyone in a few hours!

APS start times for late start days are as follows: Luce Rd - 11:33 AM; Hillcrest - 11:38 AM; Pine Ave - 11:43 AM; Middle School and High School - 12 PM.
Due to back road conditions, Alma Public Schools will be operating on our delayed start schedule today, Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Luce Rd. Childcare will open at 7:00 for previously scheduled children.

Safety is a top priority. Alma Public Schools' staff is participating in school safety professional training today. With no students on site and in partnership with Alma Police Department and Secure Environment Consultants, our staff will participate in scenario training. We will use our internal alarms and PA. Please do not be alarmed if you see police presence at Alma High School.

The Hillcrest Safety Patrol has officially started their roles! The 3rd grade Student Council members are helping to make sure that students follow their ROARS during dismissal.

We are so excited for our 2nd Parent Teacher Connection night! Although this is different from previous Parent Teacher Conferences, this is a great way for parents to get into our schools and connect with our teachers!!

Wickes-Layna Slater
It is such a pleasure to announce Layna as our January All-Star of the Month! Layna always works hard, digs into the tasks she is given, and does her absolute best. This kind and creative young lady also leads by example in our small groups and always has her eyes on her coach. When challenged to "get in the game" and share her thoughts, Layna doesn't back down and always responds with a smile. Layna's hard work is paying off here in third grade! Keep up the fantastic work, Layna!
DeJong-La’Kyiah Hayes
La'kyiah is our All-Star of the Month! La'kyiah is a hard worker and is always willing to help out a classmate in need. She leads by example with a smile and is always following her ROARS! She is quick to follow directions and participate in classroom discussions. Keep up the amazing work, La'kyiah!
Faustmann/Carroll-Jax Chapman
It is our pleasure to nominate Jax as our Star Student of the Month. He is a great student who always can be counted on to do the right thing. Jax follows his ROARS every day and is well-respected by his peers. He is a classroom helper for whatever needs to be done. Jax is a "hard worker". He is an independent learner and puts a lot of effort into his studies. We are so proud of this young man!
Greiner-Nolan Cole
Nolan is our All-Star for December! Each day Nolan participates, follows directions, asks questions for clarification, and shows his ROARS throughout the whole day. Keep up the great work Nolan and keep being the All-Star that you are!
Lamphere-Rhys Hayward
Rhys is our All-Star of the Month! Rhys is a hard worker and always tries his best. He shows his ROARS in the classroom every day. Rhys has a positive attitude and treats others with respect. Keep up the great work!
Wickes-Skyler Beard
Skyler does a wonderful job following his roars in our small group and throughout the building. He participates and completes his work. He loves to share ideas and contributes to our group. We appreciate Skyler's hard work!
Greiner-Januarie Burns
Januarie is a thoughtful, kind, and caring friend to others. She has a huge heart and loves to help out! Jan shows her ROARS daily by being respectful to both her teachers and her classmates. I know I can always count on Januarie to make good choices.
Greiner-Grayson Stahl
Grayson always comes into the classroom ready to work. He represents his roars by being respectful and responsible. He is someone for other students to look up to and has shown outstanding growth this year.
PE-Hudson O’Boyle (Lamphere)
Hudson is our PE student of the month. He does a great job following his ROARS. Hudson is always actively participating and showing good sportsmanship during games. He is polite and respectful to others in class. Hudson will continue to succeed, he has a great work ethic and is disciplined! Keep being you, Hudson!
