Fun Run Flyer for Pine Avenue/ Hillcrest Elementary!

Join us TONIGHT in the High School Auditorium for Screenagers! APS is hosting a family-friendly screening of the elementary version of Screenagers at 5:30 PM, followed by pizza ! Then, at 7:15 PM, we’ll be showing the full Screenagers film for secondary students and their families. Pizza will be provided starting at 6:00 PM before the showing. Screenagers takes an honest, relatable look at how screens — social media, video games, and digital distractions — are impacting our kids. Filmmaker Delaney Ruston, who faced these challenges with her own children, shares insights into how technology affects family life, education, and mental well-being. The film dives into struggles like social media, video games, and internet addiction, while also providing solutions to help adults guide kids in this digital age. You’ll leave with valuable ideas on how to empower kids to strike a healthy balance with screens! We are incredibly proud of our students who showed true Panther Pride as they transitioned to two different schools today due to a water main break. Their resilience, positive attitudes, and commitment to learning were nothing short of outstanding!
A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers and supportive parents for working together to ensure our kids continued to thrive academically. Our Panther community truly shines in moments like these—and today was a perfect example of that!

LATE START WEDNESDAY

Reminder, Kindergarten Round-Up is Tuesday, March 11, 2025. There are two sessions; 4:30-5:30pm and 6:00-7:00pm. Doors will open 10 minutes prior to each session so your child has an opportunity to get their picture taken at our Kindergarten Signing Booth. We can't wait to see you!

The work is underway...
Thank you for a good first morning of transition. APS will make a few minor tweaks on our end to continue to improve traffic flow.

🚧 Important Traffic Update: Pine Avenue Construction Starting March 3rd 🚧
Starting Monday, March 3rd, construction will begin on Pine Avenue, impacting traffic in the area.
For Pine Avenue Elementary School families, please read the important traffic details from Principal Dr. Konowalow here: https://secure.smore.com/n/krz4u0
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

With the upcoming closure of Pine Ave., all traffic coming to Alma High School will be from Bridge St. through the athletic complex. The attached maps will help us navigate this during the closure. Please be patient as we head into next week with these changes.
Below are some important notes in regards to the school day here at AHS.
Important Notes:
Before School: All student drop off must be done in the student parking lot as it currently is supposed to happen. There will be a little more bus traffic in this lot as students from area schools that attend CTE at AHS will be dropped off in this lot also.
During School: There is limited access in the circle drive in front of the school for anyone that needs to come to school for a meeting, pick up a sick kid, etc. This can be accessed from the North. The circle drive will now have two-way traffic.
After School: To help prevent vehicles trying to exit to River St. from multiple directions and causing back-ups, we've developed a flow for traffic to follow. This is indicated by arrows on the map.
Students Using APS Transportation: All APS buses will drop off and pick up at DLPMS and students will walk to and from the high school.
The city sidewalk between AHS and DLPMS will be closed. All foot traffic will follow the same path that students will use to get to their bus.
CTE Busing: Students using APS transportation to go to Mt. Pleasant will be picked up and dropped off in the student lot in front of the auditorium. There will be no change in the time that the bus will be leaving. Students arriving to the HS after their AM CTE classes will enter the school through the front main doors so they can get let in by staff.

Hillcrest and Pine Avenue Panthers will have an early release day tomorrow, Friday, February 28, 2025.
