Student's from AHS Chamber Choir returned home after a long weekend of exploring some of America's most famous historical locations (Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, 9/11 Memorial, Rockefeller Building, and the Lincoln Center), as well as experiencing the solar eclipse, watching a Broadway show from the 3rd row (!), and performing with world renowned musicians. They should be incredibly proud of how well they represented APS and the choir program.

The sixth graders had an opportunity to learn a technique to safely view the solar eclipse by creating and testing pinhole projectors! Pinhole projectors allowed early scientists to view the shapes of illuminated objects, like the sun, by shining the light from the object through a tiny hole, projecting the image of the object onto the ground, wall, or other flat surfaces. We safely viewed this spectacular event during the solar eclipse by projecting it on the classroom floor, countertops, and student binders!
