Alma Public Schools, in partnership with MyMichigan Health, would like to invite parents and caregivers to an open forum to learn more about the School-Based Health Center planning grant and discuss any questions you may have.
Please join us on Thursday, May 18th at 5:00pm in the Middle School Media Center for this question and answer meeting.
A big CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Aylor, preschool teacher at Luce Road! Mrs. Aylor has been recognized by Saginaw Valley State University and the MiSTEM Network – East Central Michigan Region for her contributions to STEM education! “She works magic in her classroom with all she does revolving around engineering, math, science, and technology. Her classroom features a makerspace where students are encouraged to use recycled and found materials to create and engineer whatever their brain can imagine.” Mrs. Aylor was presented with a 3-D printed STEM Stars keepsake that was designed by SVSU’s Cardinal Solutions and produced by the university’s independent testing laboratory.
Way to go Mrs. Aylor! A well deserved award!

Last week Alma students, Esaih Branham, Andrew Morgan, Jayda Queen, Adara Anderson, and Isaiah Hudecz were honored at the 30th Annual Youth Appreciation Banquet. Congratulations to all of them!
Congratulations to Mrs. Pam Engel, teacher at Pine Ave, on being awarded the March 2023 CFX Golden Apple Award!
Mrs. Engel was nominated by Mrs. Emily Adams saying "she has been an incredible teacher for 32 years in Alma Public Schools. We were both hired the same year back in 1991. I admired Pam's love for science and middle school students as we began our career. Later, she became an incredible 5th grade teacher - and my son and daughter both had her as their teacher! She brought science and STEM to life for my own kids, and continues to touch students' lives in her last few months of her teaching career! Pam has a love for vocabulary and books! Students become better people and grow in leaps & bounds after a year spent with Mrs. Engel. I'm proud to call her my colleague - and thankful she made a difference in my own children's lives."

It is with great excitement that Alma Public Schools announced the addition of tuition based childcare and preschool to Luce Road. While those limited slots fill, our staff prepares for all of the changes we have planned for the 2023-2024 school year.
As many already know, Alma Public Schools is restructuring our building alignment. This realignment will relocate all first-grade classrooms to Hillcrest Elementary, creating a 1st-3rd building. Our teams have worked diligently since this decision was made to ensure our students will have an amazing transition. The first-grade team will begin their move in June. This move comes with many questions that the district has spent a great deal of time addressing.
Now that we have answers, we have offered open stakeholder sessions. The final meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 24th, 5:00 PM located at Alma Middle School Library Media Center. We look forward to seeing you!
