AHS will be using our Inclement Weather Schedule today. There is no Mt. Pleasant CTE today.
Alma Public Schools is on a fog delay today, Tuesday, December 2nd. Please follow the late start schedule. Luce Road Childcare will be open to pre-registered children.
The CTE 2nd year students in the Medical Assisting and Firefighting classes were able to obtain their BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. The class was taught at MyMichigan Health-Alma by the organization's educational department. 32 students were certified! We want to thank MyMichigan Health-Alma for their continued partnership with the CTE Alma Campus.

AHS Student Council members spent the weekend helping Santa out at the Ashley Country Christmas! In all, they made 5 trips to the "North Pole" this weekend!
Our Health Science CNA and MA students had a great time assisting MyMichigan hospital with the community food distribution truck.
Firefighting students work on some practical training, a required element of the class to take the final state test. During these sessions, students practice skills such as donning and doffing turnout gear, operating fire hydrants, and setting up portable water tanks. Each skill is timed and students must complete the task in the allotted time frame.
Thank you to the volunteers from the St. Louis Fire Department that help make this possible for our students!
Our Criminal Justice students had an exciting visit from Detective Kinsley from Alma Police Department!
Detective Kinsley demonstrated the department’s drone technology, flying it up to 400 feet in the air and using its thermal imaging to locate students during a game of hide and seek in the cornfield. A big thank you to Detective Kinsley for giving our students a firsthand look at how drones are used in law enforcement!
Today we say goodbye to a great educator and friend. Nichole Shimunek will join her husband Gary (also a retired AHS teacher) in retirement. Thank you for your time here at AHS. You will be missed!

Alma High School's National Honor Society (NHS) students raked leaves in seven community yards this past Saturday. These students exemplify the four pillars of the NHS: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
