Pine Avenue will be closed to traffic beginning Thursday, May 2, 2024 and concluding Sunday, May 5, 2024 from Washington Avenue to Warwick Drive for asphalt paving. See the map below for details on the closure as well as proposed alternate traffic routes.
All parking lots to AHS will be accessible from Warwick & North Pine Ave.

The Alma High School Student Council came and visited the Hillcrest Student Council today and did some different activities with them! It is great for our students to see them as role models!




AHS Junior/Senior Prom 2024!






Students are in Stratford, Ontario, Canada today enjoying the play Something Rotten. This trip was free this year for students because of a grant secured by Alma Public Schools.




2nd year CTE Health Occupation students are exploring different healthcare careers and the skills needed for the career. Students learned how to staple and suture in lab today! Mrs. Brown hopes these labs spark an interest for their future healthcare education and career!





Students in Mr. Brasher’s Advanced Placement Literature and Composition class volunteered to take a three-hour practice test on either Saturday or Sunday, sharpening their skills leading up the real test in May. One student took a practice test on both days! The hard work now will definitely pay off later.

We were able to honor our Optimist Award recipients tonight at the 31st Annual Young Optimist Banquet. AHS students Trey Craige, Skilynn Moomey, Jack Barkman, and Jordan Yorch were honored.

We were able to honor Ali Kudmani, Paolo Poquiz, and Leo Richter at today's Tri-Valley Conference Honors Banquet. Congratulations!

Student's from AHS Chamber Choir returned home after a long weekend of exploring some of America's most famous historical locations (Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, 9/11 Memorial, Rockefeller Building, and the Lincoln Center), as well as experiencing the solar eclipse, watching a Broadway show from the 3rd row (!), and performing with world renowned musicians. They should be incredibly proud of how well they represented APS and the choir program.

Nine AHS students & Mr. Criner are heading to Germany today as part of the German LINKS exchange program. Students & teachers from Germany visited Alma in the fall. This is a great experience for everyone involved.

Tuesday morning both high school choirs performed at Saginaw Valley State University for District Festival. The Mixed Choir received an overall rating of 2-Good. The Chamber Choir received an overall rating of 1-Excellent. The Chamber Choir will be advancing to State Festival in May. It was a day full of beautiful music. Everyone should be extremely proud of their performance!
