Another Door Opens on Bond Improvements

Still on Schedule, Another Milestone Reached at Hillcrest!
🐾Last week, the Alma High School Marching Band completed another successful band camp! During the camp, the band prepared for the upcoming marching season where it will perform at all home varsity football games, the Alma Public Schools Homecoming Parade, MSBOA Marching Festival and the DeWitt Marching Invitational! The band will also be playing "The Star Spangled Banner" for the Detroit Tigers game on September 8!⚾🐅 Alma High School will also once again be hosting a "Glow Show" that will showcase the area bands including Ithaca, St. Louis, Shepherd, Fulton, Breckenridge and of course Alma. The glow show will take place in the AHS Football stadium on Tuesday Oct. 20!🐾
🎶This year's halftime show is titled "The Road Back Home" and tells the story of a traveler who sets out on a journey only to find they are eventually led back home. The musical selections include "Caravan", "Hit the Road Jack", "Blacktop Mambo" (a drumline feature) and "Take Me Home, Country Roads". 🎶
🐾This is sure to be another exciting year of band performances! Great work, AHS band!🐾

Behind the Scenes, Safety Takes Center Stage!
As we look back on July, we are proud of all the learning, exploration, and fun our Panther Cubs students experienced throughout the month. Students enjoyed Water Days, explored the cultures and traditions of Brazil, Egypt, Russia, and Japan, participated in hands-on activities, and spent time outdoors enjoying the beautiful summer weather. We were also happy to welcome Miss Lynn back to our program.
This week, students learned about Japan by creating lanterns, exploring cultural traditions, and sharing their enthusiasm for Pokémon through card trading and friendly games. It was a wonderful week filled with creativity, friendship, and learning.
Next week, we will conclude our Around the World summer adventure with a visit to Mexico. It will also be our final week with our school-age summer care students before they return to school. We look forward to celebrating a fantastic summer and making a few more memories together before the school year begins.
