Yesterday, our 2026 grads did their annual walkthrough! Decked out in their graduation regalia, they visited all of our school buildings, from the elementary schools where they began their education to the high school where they have made memories that will last them a lifetime. Last night, Alma High School celebrated Honors Night! We were proud to present Reese Kress with the Alma Campus CTE Student of the Year award! Reese completed the Firefighting course at the top of her class and found a passion and career path through this program. Reese spent two trimesters gaining valuable co-op experience. She has responded to level one emergency calls, ridden in an ambulance with patients, assisted in a helicopter transport with an accident victim, assisted with fire extinguishment and is now training other firefighters. Reese has been hired by the St. Louis Fire Department and has already started EMT training!

Reese was nominated for this award by her Firefighting instructor Bob March. Congratulations, Reese! 🐾

Today, our Pine Avenue Elementary 5th graders created beautiful chalk art in front of their school and some awesome downtown businesses! The students' art reflects their Panther pride and incorporates some Memorial Day and Highland Festival messages and words of encouragement. They had an awesome time expressing themselves through creativity and spreading positivity in their community! Thank you to the wonderful local businesses for welcoming our students and helping make such a fun experience possible!

🐾Our next Staff Spotlight goes to Bryant Greiner! We are fortunate to have this dedicated and caring teacher on our team. Let's hear a little bit about Mr. Greiner in his own words...🐾

⭐Grade/Subject: 3rd grade teacher, and this is my 4th year at Alma Public Schools.
⭐Favorite part of teaching at APS: My favorite thing about working at Alma Public Schools is the tight-knit, warm environment that's so thoughtfully fostered here. I enjoy getting to work with dedicated professionals that help me become a better teacher each day and building a community of learners. I also love being the student council advisor at Hillcrest Elementary and being an assistant coach for Football and middle school Basketball this past year.
⭐Hobbies & Interests: Outside of school my hobbies are spending family time with my wife and son, attending MSU Football & Hockey games and playing in an Adult Hockey League.
