Alma High School students taking an Early Literacy class were able to gain experience by reading to Hillcrest students! What a great experience for both groups of students!

APS start times for late start days are as follows: Luce Rd - 11:33 AM; Hillcrest - 11:38 AM; Pine Ave - 11:43 AM; Middle School and High School - 12 PM.
Due to back road conditions, Alma Public Schools will be operating on our delayed start schedule today, Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Luce Rd. Childcare will open at 7:00 for previously scheduled children.
Safety is a top priority. Alma Public Schools' staff is participating in school safety professional training today. With no students on site and in partnership with Alma Police Department and Secure Environment Consultants, our staff will participate in scenario training. We will use our internal alarms and PA. Please do not be alarmed if you see police presence at Alma High School.
Reminder: Monday, January 12th is an Early Release Day for students.
Due to the drifting back roads, Alma Public Schools will be closed Monday, January 15, 2024. Luce Road Childcare will open at 7:00 AM.
Gratiot County is under a winter storm warning. Due to expected hazardous conditions, heavy snow, and high winds, Alma Public Schools will be closed on Friday, January 12, 2024. Luce Rd. childcare will also be closed.

This morning, Alma High School, put the school into secure mode as we were dealing with a medical emergency. Everything is clear now and we're resuming normal operations.

Students are greeted this morning with holiday music from our jazz band.
A'Myah Fleming and Kennedy Mullens recently had their poems published in Teen Ink magazine. What an outstanding accomplishment.
A'Myah Fleming's poem is "Eyes of My Love" (page 50 of the magazine) &
Kennedy Mullens' poem is "green grapes IV" (page 51 of the magazine)
AHS students enjoyed visiting with our neighbors at Arbor Grove while playing a couple rounds of UNO.
Another awesome night of music put on by the AHS Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, Big Band, and Jazz Ensemble.
Bennet Radey placed second in TVC Quizbowl Competition and received his certificate and medal in All League Honors.
