The Alma Student Council definitely made our staff feel welcomed as we wrapped up a week of professional development and open houses!

Thank you to the seniors who painted the Panther Trail on Pine Ave. today!

Thank you to our AHS National Honor Society for hosting our Freshman Orientation today!

Our open houses are taking place today from 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-7:00. This is your opportunity to pick up student schedules and chromebooks, find your lockers and classrooms, and visit teachers!

Yesterday the high school in middle school staffs work together to create goals for the school year and also learn and work on common procedures to support student growth. Mr. Falor even got a little friendly competition going between the buildings during an activity in the gym!

We are excited to be offering Alma High School students FREE admission to all HOME Alma High School games and tournaments for the 2022-2023 school year! Students will be given a pass code through GoFan to access their FREE athletic pass for Alma High School games. Students will need their student ID number and will be required to use their phone to use the GoFan app and display their pass at the admissions table prior to entering a game. Any student that does not have a phone should contact Mrs. Fenn (tfenn@almaschools.net) to obtain an alternate pass. This pass is not valid for MHSAA tournaments or middle school games, and pass privileges may be revoked for any individual student who fails to uphold the standards of conduct expected of AHS students.
Go Panthers!

About 180 APs staff have gathered at YFC today for a transformational training with Capturing Kids Hearts!

Summer is coming to a close, and our teachers are ready to take their summer learning and use it at school. Earlier this summer Mr. Holiday attended a Leaders for Just Schools professional development.

Thank you to our Food Service staff for serving breakfast this morning!

We are back! It’s great to see the entire APS staff at breakfast this morning!

Reminder of our upcoming events, including our Open Houses and Freshman Orientation next week!

The attached a map is to remind everyone that student drop off and parking will take place in the south parking lot. The front circle drive is designated for school bus drop off and pick up at the start and end of the school day. Thank you for your cooperation.

Mr. Falor would like to welcome our students to AHS for the 2022-2023 school year! Welcome letters and information should be received in the mail soon.
Go Panthers!

If you visit AHS you can see our new cooling units on the roof in various spaces. While the work crews have done an amazing job getting our building ready to have air conditioning, supply chain issues have left us waiting for some parts to finish the job. This mean the AC will not be operational for the start of the year. On the bright side, this is the last time we start the school year without it. Go Panthers!

We love sharing what our teachers did this summer. Mr. Newman attended the "Habits Universal Institute" in Charleston, SC from July 6-9 where he learned about how to effectively use the new "Habits" band method book we have recently started using in Alma.

Special Education staff are participating in specialized professional development this week at APS. We are getting ready for a great year!

APS teachers are braving the heat and humidity this week to participate in staff led, technology centered, professional development here at AHS.

Our building feels like a school today! Fall sports have begun. Volleyball, Cross Country, Soccer, and Swim are already getting after it, and Girls Golf, Sideline Cheer, Boys Tennis and Football seasons get underway today as well!

This summer the dynamic duo of Pratt and Levine attended nErD camp, a literary conference for teachers, librarians and authors. Margaret Peterson Haddix was the keynote address.

Mr. Falor and Mr. Huff joined other APS staff to spend the last four days participating in Adaptive Schools training. We are excited to bring some new ideas and strategies to our students and staff!
