Congratulations to the AHS Jazz Band for their performance at the CMU Jazz Festival on Friday Feb. 7. The band had a great performance featuring many soloists and was named 2nd-Runner Up for Most Outstanding Band in Class B. Additional congratulations to Luca Lebron who was selected as the 2nd-Runner Up for Most Outstanding Soloist in Class B.
Congratulations to Leo Argueta-Slaughter, Luke Bonacci, Brighton Conn, Monica Dopke, Anna Johnson, Luca Lebron, Omar Madrigal, Gideon Sacco, Liam Sanchez, Kyrin Shiflet, Neil Shiflet, Pierce Summers, and Zach Thelen who performed as soloists or in small groups at the District MSBOA Solo and Ensemble Festival on Saturday Feb. 8 in Bay City. These students put on many fine performances and all received Division 1 or 2 ratings from their adjudicators.

Congratulations to Cooper Couch, Shaniya Simcox, Paige Pickelmann, Vivian Wickes, Tanner Gager, and Olivia Holt for their induction into the National Technical Honor Society. Their hard work in their CTE programs at the GI-Tec Mt. Pleasant campus has paid off.
Senior Andrew Brasher won the VFW District 15 and Auxiliary Scholarship this weekend while attending the 46th Annual VFW Department of Michigan and Auxiliary Mid-Winter Banquet. The $1,000 scholarship will go towards his tuition at Ferris State University in the fall.

We would like to thank Alma Church of God & His Place for their wonderful donation for our ROAR store. Students can use their earned Panther Bucks to purchase items from the store. They also brought some nice snacks for our staff. Thank you!
On behalf of everyone at Alma Public Schools, it is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of our beloved bus driver, Dave Covington, this morning before his route started. He was not only a dedicated bus driver for our daily routes but also played a vital role in transporting our athletes to numerous events over the years.
His commitment, kindness, and presence will be greatly missed by colleagues, students, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Winter Formal tickets will be on sale both Thursday & Friday. Due to our closure we are extending the deadline to submit a guest permission form until Friday at 3pm.
Because of school closures, the Stratford Trip sign-up will be Friday, January 24th, in Mr. Brasher's room. If you missed the meeting on Monday, stop by Mr. Brasher's or Mrs. Ricker's room tomorrow for the permission slip and information.
